Leaving on a Jet Plane

You know when you have an annoying song stuck in your head? Well, I've had this one stuck in my head all day... "I'm leavin' on a jet plane. Don't know when I'll be back again". Turns out that's all I know, so it just repeats over and over. Oddly enough, it doesn't annoy me that much. Probably because Diane and I are actually leaving on a jet plane Saturday morning to go on a cruise. I can't tell you how excited we are since this will be the first time in our 13+ years of marriage that we've been on a significant trip together, and the first time since we've had kids that we'll both be away from them for more than a couple of days. Anyway, enough about that. I'll write all about it after we get back.

So, I took an awesome picture of Diane last week while she was making her last wedding cake of the summer. She didn't know I was taking the picture and I snapped it just as her sister, Jennett, said something to make her laugh. Priceless. She could be on the cover of Suzy Homemaker magazine. She'll probably kill me when she sees I posted this on the blog, but it's worth it. I want to carry this picture around with me and show it to people. Then I'd say, "Yeah, that's my wife. She was just whipping up this cake because I was hungry."

Time for Ryan's contribution to the blog:

Thanks, Ryan. Now go away before you break my keyboard. Man, that kid loves playing on the computer. He is definitely my son.

Funny kid story of the week: Not so much of a story, but kind of funny. So it turns out that the way we can tell that Ryan is done his food and wants to get out of his high chair is when he sticks his fingers down his throat and starts to gag himself. He thinks this is hilarious, especially when we tell him to stop. The only way we can prevent him from enjoying his meal a second time in reverse is to take him out of his chair.

On that note, I'm signing off. Talk to you when we we get back from Mexico :)
